Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNO): Ruling out any proposal for a separate Jammu state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Friday said there is no plan for a separate Jammu state and Jammu and Kashmir are one and will remain one. Speaking to reporters after a meeting on Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar (VB–G RAM-G), in Ganderbal Koul, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “There is no plan for a separate Jammu state. Jammu and Kashmir are one and will remain one. We will not allow any division.” He said the purpose of today’s session was to review the shortcomings in the scheme and highlight its restructured priorities. “The VB–G RAM-G will now focus on four main areas—water conservation, village infrastructure, rural employment and assistance during calamities,” he said, adding that consultations have been held with various stakeholders, including businessmen, lawyers and social associations, on state-level development and the Union Budget 2026. Responding to questions on recent incidents targeting businesspersons outside Jammu and Kashmir, Koul condemned the attacks and urged strict action. “The Prime Minister and the Home Minister have already condemned these incidents. We also strongly condemn them. Every citizen of this country has the right to live and do business anywhere in India,” he said. He added that he had spoken to the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and party leaders regarding the issue and called for ensuring the safety and security of all traders—(KNO)
